'Still the One': Alan Jackson covers Orleans ahead of touring finale

Alan Jackson's "Still the One" (MCA)

As Alan Jackson prepares to wrap up his touring career with a sold-out show Saturday at Nissan Stadium, he's dropping new music as a tribute to his wife of 50 years.

When Alan initially met Denise Jackson, “she was a cheerleader for Newnan High School practicing her dance routine for the cheerleader squad." The song that was playing was the band Orleans' top-five pop hit from 1976, "Still the One."

“I sat there and watched her, and three years later I ended up marrying that girl and she’s my wife today,” Alan says. "This has always been one of our fond memories of our starting-out days, and every time we hear that song ... it brings back those memories.”

Alan's version of "Still the One" is out now.

“I went in the studio and re-recorded that pop song with a little country seasoning on it, and I gave it to her for her birthday because she’s 'still the one,'" he adds.

Saturday's star-studded Last Call: One More for the Road will air as an NBC special later this year.

Koe Wetzel adds 5 songs to 'The Night Champion.' (Columbia Records)

Just two weeks after the release of his new album, The Night Champion, Koe Wetzel is adding five new songs to the collection.

“Anyone who’s followed me for a while knows I’m not very good at calling it a night,” he says. “With how much love the fans have been showing this album already – and knowing we had these additional songs we believe in just as much – we figured we’d go ahead and turn ’em loose while the night’s still young.”

“Magnet,” “Bad Decisions,” “Ronnie Ray,” “Rolling & Smoking” and “Meet You There” were written and recorded alongside the album's original 11 tracks.

The cover of the new five-song addition to The Night Champion features a photo of Koe's grandfather, Raymond Wetzel, with his Nite Champion hunting dog. It drops on Friday.

Meanwhile, Koe has a top-10 hit with Corey Kent and "Rocky Mountain Low," with his new single, "Hurts Like You," starting its climb.

Miranda Lambert's been cooking a whole album with 'Crisco'

Miranda Lambert's 'Crisco' (MCA)

If you like what Miranda Lambert's been cooking up with "Crisco," you'll be glad to know the song is also the title track of her new record arriving Oct. 2.

The 12-song collection also includes "A Song to Sing" with Chris Stapleton, her cover of Jim Croce's "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song" and "Till the Going's Gone," which drops Friday.

“I've always loved every corner of country music,” Miranda says. “The heartbreak songs, the honky-tonk songs, the songs that make you think and the songs that make you dance. Making this record reminded me that those things don’t have to be separated. We followed the songs wherever they wanted to go, trusted our instincts and ended up with something that feels really fun and really honest to who I am.”

Here's the complete track list for Miranda Lambert's Crisco, which she produced with songwriter Jesse Frasure:

"Snakeskin Boots"
"Crisco"

Dolly Parton cuts the ribbon on her Tennessean Travel Stop

Danny Nozell, Dolly Parton & Gregory H. Sachs (Courtesy Dolly Parton)

Dolly Parton made a surprise appearance Wednesday at the grand opening of her new venture, a gas station and restaurant called Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop.

The legendary singer-songwriter, author and businesswoman, now 80, cut the ribbon in a grand opening ceremony for the travel stop and welcomed guests in a pink-and-blue fringe outfit, complete with a "Dolly" name tag and stiletto heels.

"I'm sure some of you are wondering why I wanted a truck stop. Well, I couldn't leave it to beavers," the "9 to 5" singer said in remarks at the ceremony, referring to popular gas station chain Buc-ee's, whose mascot is a bucktoothed beaver named Buc-ee.

The new one-stop travel center is located off exit 22 on I-65 in Cornersville, Tennessee, about an hour south of Nashville, Tennessee, and an hour northwest of Huntsville, Alabama.

In addition to the usual fuel station, general store, coffee shop and restaurant, Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop also features a tour bus, mural, lounge, dog park, electric vehicle charging stations and event space.

Parton's appearance on Wednesday comes almost two months after she canceled her Las Vegas residency amid ongoing health issues. The singer had previously postponed her Vegas shows back in September citing "health challenges" before announcing their cancellation in May this year.

In a May 4 Instagram post, Parton said she was responding well to medications but needed more time to get better and "up to stage performance level."

"My immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple, three years, and they're working real hard on rebuilding [and] strengthening those, and hopefully I'll be up to snuff again soon," Parton said in part in a video at the time.

For Riley Green, CMA Fest 2026 was beers, tears and an unexpected hosting gig on ABC

Riley Green (Disney/Connie Chornuk)

Riley Green marks a career highlight on Thursday, as he hosts ABC's annual CMA Fest special alongside Good Morning America's Lara Spencer.

"Performing at the CMA Fest is such a big deal, and obviously getting to play at Nissan [Stadium] and, you know, [it's] something you grow up dreaming about doing," he said backstage earlier this month. "I don't think I ever grew up dreaming about hosting."

"I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew," he adds, "but [I'm] excited about being able to have a part in the festival and being able to interview some of the other artists I'm friends with and fans of, and it'll be a good time."

Of course, the "Change My Mind" hitmaker also played his own set at the festival, and he can instantly tell how it's affecting the crowd.

"Well, there should be a lot of beers up in the air and, you know, maybe some tears," he reveals. "I think that's always a [way to] judge for me is if I can have people holding their beer up and crying in the same show, it's a good set."

The long list of talent in the three-hour special include Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, Brothers Osborne, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Deana Carter, Ella Langley, Fetty Wap, Florida Georgia Line, Gretchen Wilson, HARDY, Jason Aldean, Jelly Roll, Jordan Davis, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan, Michael McDonald, Molly Tuttle, The Red Clay Strays, Ricky Skaggs, Russell Dickerson, Shaboozey, Shay Morgan, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tim McGraw, Tucker Wetmore and Zach Top.

Tune in to see Riley's hosting debut starting at 8 p.m. ET Thursday on ABC, before CMA Fest premieres on Hulu Friday.

Kenny Chesney anchors his new album at 'Silver Sands Marina'

Kenny Chesney's 'Silver Sands Marina' (HEY NOW Records)

Kenny Chesney's launching his first album from his new label, HEY NOW Records, from Silver Sands Marina on Sept. 25.

The new collection was produced by the superstar and his longtime collaborator, Buddy Cannon. It features its lead single, "Carry On," which is one spot away from country's top 10.

“I love everything about music, but especially how it makes you feel,” Kenny says. “It can crack open a tough moment, lift you up, blow you up and make you laugh harder than anything. When I started thinking about all the things music can be, a few songs came in – and Silver Springs Marina, as it now exists, took shape. Some great players, guests who really fit the songs, but especially some places I’ve never gone.”

Megan Moroney, Colbie Caillat and Lily Meola all collab with Kenny on his 21st album, which he'll promote July 15 on TalkShopLive, the exclusive home for autographed copies of the record.

The title track of Silver Sands Marina is out now.

Bailey Zimmerman apologizes for New Mexico incident that led to criminal charges

Bailey Zimmerman (Jason Kempin/Getty Images)

Bailey Zimmerman is speaking out about the incident at Sandia Resort & Casino that led to the cancellation of his May 27 show in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and resulted in him facing felony and misdemeanor criminal charges.

In a statement provided to ABC Audio by his publicist, Bailey writes, "First things first, I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and to everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino. I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful. I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. I respect your community and the hospitality and appreciate the opportunity that was given to me to perform on Native Land. I take full accountability for everything that happened and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected.”

He goes on to address the effect on his supporters, saying, "To my fans who bought tickets and showed up expecting a performance, I am so sorry, you deserved better from me. I understand that being a musician comes with big responsibilities, both on and off stage, and I know that I fell short that day. I am reflecting on the disappointment and concern that I caused.”

The “Chevy Silverado” hitmaker now faces a felony charge for criminal damage to property (over $1,000) and a misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services in New Mexico, according to a June 18 court filing.

"I am taking this legal matter seriously,” he closes. "I am committed to doing the work necessary to learn and grow. Thank you to my fans for holding me accountable and for understanding that I am human. I do not take your support for granted.”

According to People, Bailey allegedly seemed intoxicated at soundcheck, resulting in the show’s cancellation. His hotel room allegedly was left with $16,000 worth of damages, as well as a $400 unsettled bill for alcohol. The arrest warrant was issued when the resort was unable to reach him.

Taylor Swift and Lainey Wilson teamed up for a surprise duet Tuesday night in Nashville, where Taylor's fiancé, Travis Kelce, was holding his annual Tight End University event.

The surprise duet took place at Sports Illustrated and Tight End University's Tight Ends & Friends Concert Presented by Reese’s, held at Nashville's The Pinnacle. Lainey, whose own appearance was a surprise, welcomed Taylor to the stage to sing Taylor's hit "Love Story." When Taylor got to the part where she sings, "Pulled out a ring," she flashed her own engagement ring.

The event also included performances by Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Jon Pardi, Brett Young, Mitchell Tenpenny, Nate Smith, Chase Rice, and The War and Treaty. Comedian Shane Gillis put in an appearance as well, and Travis and San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle did a keg stand onstage.

Travis, George and ex-tight end Greg Olsen founded Tight End University. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, George, who's been invited to Taylor and Travis' wedding, said he asked Travis if the couple is really getting married at Madison Square Garden, as has been rumored. George said that Travis "laughed at me."

George told People of Taylor's appearance at the concert, "She's just such an awesome person to give us her time this close to their wedding. So we're just so thankful that they're here."

Taylor also performed at the Tight Ends & Friends concert last year; she sang "Shake It Off."

Even if he's on the naughty list, Luke Bryan vowed to 'keep it on the rails' at CMA Fest 2026

Luke Bryan (Disney/Connie Chornuk)

If there's a naughty list at CMA Fest, Luke Bryan's probably on it.

It's a confession the superstar made backstage as he prepared to close out the 2026 Nissan Stadium shows earlier in June, making him the final artist to play the festival in the original home of the Tennessee Titans. In 2027, it's set to be held in the soon-to-be-completed new stadium.

"It's been fun through the years. I have historically taken it kinda late, but then I have been reprimanded by the city before for going too late, so we'll keep it on the rails tonight, being the last performer on Sunday," Luke said, before recalling a highlight.

"I think one night Randy Travis was in the audience. I think I did like six Randy Travis songs in a row to honor him. But there's no telling," he added, "but I'm gonna get caught up in the moment and we'll see what happens."

You too can see what happened during Luke's set when the annual CMA Fest special premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, before its Friday arrival on Hulu.

Keith Urban slips into a 'flow state' with a top-10 album

Keith Urban's 'flow state' (MCA)

Could a top-10 album inspire Keith Urban to cut another record of yacht rock tunes?

If so, he's well on his way to a sequel, as flow state debuts at #7 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart.

With versions of everything from Seals & Crofts' "Summer Breeze" to Player's "Baby Come Back," the record includes 10 covers. There are guest spots by Little Big Town and John Mayer, in addition to Michael McDonald on the album's sole original track, "We Go Back."

All the originals covered in flow state were top-20 hits on the Hot 100 between 1972 and 1981.

Earlier, Keith told Billboard if “there’s any reason to do a second (album), I literally have the 10 songs picked out already.”

flow state debuts at #12 on Top Country Albums and #57 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

Go ahead and bedazzle your boots, 'cause Miranda Lambert's 'gotta keep groovin''

Miranda Lambert (Disney/Frank Micelotta)

If you like the groove Miranda Lambert's been throwing down lately, there's more to come.

Though she hinted at it with "A Song to Sing," her duet with Chris Stapleton from July 2025, Miranda came right out and said it in "Crisco," which dropped in May: "Ain't we mixin' country and disco?"

She also spells it out in a new Instagram video, bellying up to the bar behind two bedazzled Crisco-esque cans: One says "country" and the other says "disco."

"Yeah I gotta keep movin', gotta keep groovin'/ 'Cause that song that's in my soul will carry me on down the road/ I gotta keep goin' till the going's gone/ Till it's gone, gone, gone," Miranda sings in the background.

The accompanying text confirms “Till the Going’s Gone” will drop on Friday, fueling fans' hopes there'll soon be a whole album to follow.

Miranda's most recent project was 2024's Postcards from Texas

Why there's nothing 'Recreational' about Blake Shelton's CMA Fest performance

Blake Shelton's "Let Him In" (BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville)

Blake Shelton's latest album may be called For Recreational Use Only, but his latest hit is one he doesn't take lightly.

Co-written by HARDY, "Let Him in Anyway" comes from the viewpoint of someone worried his best friend may not make it into heaven.

“If you can hear this song and it doesn’t punch you in the gut and break your heart, you probably need to be examined in other ways,” Blake says of the song, which he'll perform on Thursday's primetime CMA Fest special on ABC.

“I just wanted this song to have a platform and a way to be heard," he adds. "That’s what I love about our writers in Nashville and what I love about country music in general. Great songs come out of this town every day, and every now and then you're lucky enough to get your hands on one. I think this is one of those songs.”

You can check out a new live video of "Let Him in Anyway," recorded during Blake's recent Vegas residency ahead of his CMA Fest performance on Thursday. You can watch for it starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

The greatest hits of CMA Fest, through the eyes of a teen Lainey Wilson

CMA Fest (Country Music Association/ABC)

Lainey Wilson steps into the spotlight Thursday night for a headlining performance on ABC's annual three-hour CMA Fest special.

But Lainey has a history with the festival, formerly known as Fan Fair, that dates back to her teens.

"I was probably 14 or 15 when I saw Sugarland in a big blow-up ball and they rolled across the entire floor of the stadium, and I thought that was the coolest thing I'd ever seen," she recalls. "It was insane. And I remember Martina McBride singing 'Broken Wing.'"

While the "Somewhere Over Laredo" superstar stops short of naming a favorite, she definitely has a major contender.

"I remember every single year watching Keith Urban, like, pop up in all these random spots in the stadium," she says. "To me he's always been one of the best performers."

"I've been coming every year since I was 14 years old, so it's hard just to choose one," she adds.

CMA Fest premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streams the following day on Hulu.

Brantley Gilbert reveals the 'Sins of the Father' with album's title track

Brantley Gilbert's 'Sins of the Father' (BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville)

The release of Brantley Gilbert's eighth studio album is still a little more than a month away, but he's just released two new songs early.

The first is the title track, "Sins of the Father," which he calls the "most country song on the album."

"I’ve done my dirt/ And I’ve been washed in the water/ Lord I go to church/ And I’m still learning the gospel," Brantley sings on the track. "But tonight Lord I pray for our sons and our daughters/ Don’t make ‘em pay for the sins of the father."

At the other end of the spectrum, Brantley estimates that "Good Ol' Boys" “goes harder than probably anything I’ve ever written.”

In the end, the "Bottoms Up" hitmaker knows where he fits.

“As long as there’s a box in country music, I know where I belong,” he says. “And that’s right on the outside of it. All of my albums are a chapter of my life and this one’s no different. I don’t have skeletons in the closet – my s***’s out in the open. So if there’s any piece of my story that could help somebody, I’m cheating them if I keep it to myself.”

Sins of the Father arrives July 24, featuring Brantley's current hit, "Good Damn."
